Northern Vietnam

On Wednesday 22 October 2008 delegates attending the Field Trip to Vietnam will depart the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel following breakfast for the flight to Hanoi. Airconditioned coaches will transfer delegates to their hotel at Halong Bay via a visit to some plantations - Huu Lung Plantation is managed by VINAFOR Bac Giang. VINAFOR Bac Giang planted about 5,000ha of Eucalyptus and Acacia including:
       - 3/4 planted area is in Huu Lung Plantation in Lang Son province
       - 1/4 planted area is the Yen Plantation in Bac Giang province.

and then continue to Cai Lan and Hai Phong. The Chairman of Vinafor, Mr Tran Duc Sinh, will join delegates at the hotel for dinner this evening and make a presentation.

Thursday 23 October 2008 will be an early start to view the Vijachip Cai Lan Wood chipping Mills in Cai Lan Port plus Chipexco Minh Hoang and 12-11 Co.  For the afternoon a sight seeing tour of the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay by river boat and a visit to the fairy cave has been organised. On the boat lunch will be served and dinner that evening is at the hotel.

Friday 24 October 2008 delegates will be returned to Hanoi for the flight back to Singapore. Discounted rooms are available at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel for delegates requiring overnight accommodation.

This is based on 40 participants and could increase if this number is not achieved.  Participants are asked to ensure they have an entry visa for Vietnam prior to arriving for the Conference.
