FIELD
TRIP TWO:
Thursday 1st March, 2007
Depart
Carlton Crest Hotel approx 6.30am for flight to Launceston
Arrive at 9.30 am in Launceston, and visit some plantations (E nitens) on the
way to Bell Bay, then to the FEA - ITC Woodchip Mill. Overlook and see Artec's
chipping and chip stockpile and loading operations for Taiwan -- and visit
the 9 year nitens sawmill, dry kilns, moulding plant etc. Visit the Gunns 2
major chip plants and woodchip storage and loading facilities at Long Reach
and Tamar, and the possibility of the construction site for the Gunns pulpmill.
The CEO of Forestry Tasmania, Evan Rolley, is the invited guest speaker.
Dinner and overnight in Launceston
Friday
morning fly back to Melbourne. Overseas and interstate
delegates can return to their home ports, others from
Melbourne or those staying on for the Grand Prix, will
be returned to the Carlton Crest Hotel.
